How it works

Every few seconds your browser sends a tiny request to the nearest Cloudflare data center. When it fails we immediately try a second, independent server, so a single hiccup on one network isn't counted as an outage. Two failed checks in a row start an outage; the first successful check ends it.

Tips: keep this tab open (you can switch to other tabs). Turn on "Keep screen on" for laptops, and use a wired connection if you want to rule out Wi-Fi. Browsers may slow checks down in background tabs to save battery, so outages shorter than a minute can be missed in the background.
